Polusi suara yang dihasilkan oleh motor dan mobil pengunjung serta partisipan pameran pada ajang sebelumnya, memang sempat menuai protes dari penduduk yang bermukim di sekitar Pacifico Exhibition Hall, Yokohama. Namun berkat kampanye “Be Calm, Not Loud” yang digalakkan oleh pihak Mooneyes selaku penyelenggara, maka perhelatan akbar the 23rd Yokohama Hot Rod Custom show tetap sukses digelar. Pasalnya, acara yang digelar Minggu (7/12) lalu ini disesaki oleh lebih dari 15 ribu pengunjung, 800 di antaranya adalah pengunjung asing. Dan diliput oleh 200 media dari dalam dan luar Jepang, termasuk TheGaspolCom yang datang bersama dengan rekan-rekan builder dari Gearhead Monkey Garage.
Walaupun didera oleh dinginnya suhu udara yang mencapai 3 derajat, namun pengunjung rela antri sejak pagi hari demi mendapatkan tiket masuk guna menyaksikan langsung 300 mobil custom, 650 motor modifikasi, karya pinstripe milik 50 seniman, hingga pameran diecast dan pedal car.
